Update: We're heading to committee! RSVP to give public comment on 5/26

Exciting news! City Council has scheduled the motion to study the feasibility of establishing a democracy vouchers program, including options for full public financing, at the Rules, Elections, and Intergovernmental Relations Committee THIS Friday, 5/26 at 1PM!

Your voice is needed! We need a big turnout to show the Rules Committee there is community interest in exploring options to expand our campaign finance system and empower more Angelenos, especially working class communities and communities of color, to participate in our democracy.

Thanks to organizations Abundant Housing LA, Courage California, How the West Was Saved, Mar Vista Voice, Valley Justice Coalition, and the Green Party of Los Angeles County for recently joining our sign-on letter! And special special thanks to the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council and the Reseda Neighborhood Council for submitting a Community Impact Statement in support of the motion!

Please note that Friday's meeting only allows for in-person public comment, so if you're unable join in person, you can still submit public comment virtually here.

Thanks for your continued support—and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Onwards,

LA for Democracy Vouchers Team
